Birthday wishes!

Yesterday was a very special day for my daughter and I. We are very lucky in that we share a birthday. Every year we have fun celebrating together and creating fun memories. Morganne decided that she wanted to go on a hike to Devil’s Head with the family. She went there the previous week-end with my husband and had so much fun that she wanted to share it with my son and I.

It was an absolutely beautiful day and what I loved the most was the great conversation I had with my daughter as we were hiking down the mountain. We chatted about life, creating special memories, and made a vow that we would go on a special mommy daughter trip to a spa in New Mexico when she turned thirteen. My mom loved this place called Tecate and she always talked about taking my sister and I there when we got older. Unfortunately her health declined pretty quickly and she passed away before she could live this dream. So my sister and I made a pact that we would take both of our daughters to this special spa when they are older.
Something I did this year for my birthday was make a wish for what I would like my year to look like. I took some time to think about what I would like to achieve this year and what goals I would love to cross off before my next birthday hits. I think this is a great ritual that anyone can do any time of year. For anyone who lives in Denver, I am starting a Chat, Connect and Create group that would be a great place to help you begin this journey. This week take some quiet time to reflect and journal what you would like to see manifest in your life. There is never the “perfect” time to reflect on where you are in your life, so use my birthday week as a time to start.
1. Carve out some time
Look at your calendar and carve out some time to get away and create some space to really reflect on everything. If you do not make the time, it simply won’t happen. And it is much harder to do this with kids running around, so pencil in time you can get away for 20-30 minutes or so.
2. What is missing in your life?
The best way to begin reflection is to look at what is missing in your life. Do you wish you were healthier? Do you wish you were in a committed and loving relationship? Do you wish your business was busier? Start jotting down what you think needs your time and energy to transform.
3. Make a plan
Dreams are just dreams if you do not create ACTION for the goals. You need a plan. You need some accountability. You need dates and markers that will keep you on track. Begin creating a road map for your goals. If you do not know where to begin, I would love to help! Email me with roadmap in the subject line and I will give you some personalized guidance.
