Kids and brain food~

Happy Wednesday everyone!! Something I am always stressing about is whether or not my kids are getting enough healthy vitamins and nutrients in their meals. I’ve got some fairly picky eaters so of course this makes it harder. My daughter could literally eat mac and cheese every day of her life and my son would be happy with steak and pasta. So, I’ve always been healthy and focused on living a healthy lifestyle and I found the list of top brain foods for kids. Keeping this list handy makes it helpful as a reminder to get some of these foods on the table.

Fruits and Vegetables Made Easy: The Green Smoothie!

Blueberries

Whole grains

Fish

Nuts and seeds

Avocados

Beans

Luckily my daughter LOVES fruit, so she eats a lot of it. I have discovered that making a fruit/vegetable smoothie tastes really good and you have no idea how healthy it is. I will throw a handful of kale and chia seeds into the blender and my kids have no idea. It tastes really sweet and yummy. I am very good at providing whole grain bread for the kids, so I can check that one off the list. But I could probably be better at getting the whole grain pasta (my husband says it tastes like cardboard), but I think it just takes a while to get used to something new. My kids are on the fence when it comes to fish, especially salmon which is one of the healthiest fish you can eat. I just need to make a point of grilling it regularly and hopefully soon they will learn to enjoy it:)

Anyway, I just wanted to share this list with you in hopes that you all can begin to make some subtle changes in your families health and eating habits. I would LOVE for you to share you own ways that you sneak healthy foods onto your kids plates!

Have a great day!!
