Creating a “Feel Good Space”

How many times have you walked into your home, your office, or your bedroom and felt the tension automatically build up in your body? There is clutter everywhere, piles adding up, and you feel helpless to even begin the project at hand. You see everything as one overwhelming task. Typically when you feel your life drowning in obligations and responsibilities, the home takes last place in keeping it tidy and organized. How would it feel to walk into your home or office and have everything in its proper place? The piles are organized and easy to sort through. You have control when creating a calm surrounding, one that feeds your soul, not depletes from it. Instead of looking at everything as one large “to do”, focus on mini accomplishments that will eventually lead to the ultimate goal of a feel good space.

Action tips for the week:

1. Pick a time frame every day that you can devote to this process. Be very specific with the time.

2. Decide what room or space you want to focus on first.

3. Divide the room again into smaller projects that you can work on one at a time. Try not to get overwhelmed by the room as a whole.

4. Clean and organize one space before moving on to the next.

When you have accomplished all the small tasks, you should now have a space that is clutter-free and organized. Feel good about what you have started; you can now look forward to completing other rooms.

Have a great week!
